Class Enrollments

On-Line Course Enrollment

Business Problem

Register attendees for upcoming classes

As part of the process for providing awareness and training for the new my|CalPERS system, the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) needed to hold workshops for the participating agencies.

Solution

Web-based Class Enrollment

CloverLeaf developed a web-based registration application that allows the participating agencies to view a list of available workshops, and then enter attendee information (up to 4 attendees).

Registration Management

The application allows internal CalPERS staff to update the list of available workshops as registrations progress. This includes adjusting schedules, facilities, and class sizes.

Reporting

The system provides registration information to the workshop leaders (rosters, etc), and allows evaluations to be entered.

Leverage Existing Architecture

The application was developed using the existing CalPERS On-Line architecture, which included JSP and Javascript for the user experience, and ASP to generate the administration pages. Data is stored in and managed with a MySQL database.

Benefits

The solution is extremely usable and was implemented in a very short time frame.

CloverLeaf Added Value

CloverLeaf's familiarity with the existing architecture and business processes allowed it to develop the solution quickly. The readiness project needed the application quickly and did not have time for a full-scale development project. CloverLeaf's experience and agility proved to be of great value for CalPERS.
